Not a superhero

Good morning everyone, I hope you all are doing fantastic. I have some sad but exciting news. I am not going to be running Centsibly Savvy any longer. I know I have not been posting lately as it is but wanted to let you all know the page will be coming down at the end of the day. I will also be cancelling the facebook page. I want to thank you all sincerely for your support on this page and this journey. I may not have been able to do all the things I had hoped for or gained the readers I was hoping I would but I did get loyal readers on here and feel I have helped some people really learn to save. I appreciate you all for sticking with me while I tried to make my blog grow.

I am sad to see it all leave but am excited for a new road in my life. I am starting school back up and have changed my degree. I was going to school for business management and am now going to receive a bachelors degree in paralegal services. I am very excited and nervous about this change. I know it is going to take work and dedication which is a big reason why I am closing this page. I need to be focused on one thing at a time instead of multiple things. I have a bad habit (which I think a lot of us do) of taking on more than I can chew and am really trying to break that habit. I am reposting this plea to you all for help. I know some have helped and I along with the family in need truly appreciate it but need more help. I have put together a backpack for the little girl with some school supplies but they can still use help with diapers, wipes, stage 3 food, clothes and toys. Please let me know if you can help.

Hey there everyone, let me just start by saying I know I have not been on here lately and as you know somewhat life has gotten the better of me lately. I know I have posted a little about what is happening here but have not gone in to details. I believe things are calming down but I will not be on here much until the weekend unfortunately. Please continue to stand by as I am here to help you save and will be back in full force very soon.

I want to say that a few days ago I was helped in a HUGE way by someone and am so very grateful. I really felt the need to pay it forward in some way. Well I have found that way, or should I say that way found me. I need your help, please. I received a call tonight asking me to help out a person in a tough situation. A lady has taken in two children to prevent them from going in to foster care. This is a fabulous thing she has done however the children have nothing but the clothes on their back. She does not have diapers, wipes, baby food, clothes or toys for these kids and not a lot of money to spare at the moment. I am going through everything I have and gathering what I can to help this family. The boy is in size 3 diapers, eats stage 3 food and is in 12-18 month clothes. The girls is 7 years old and is in size 6-7 clothes. I am going through my stockpile to see what I can do along with pulling together coupons for diapers and other items. Please let me know if you can help at all. I am hoping to give them some items tomorrow and am more than willing to come and pick up items. Please let me know if you are able to help in any way. We all come together around the holidays to help people and I think we forget that others need help all year. I know I have had my moments of need and am asking us all to pay it forward.

JcPenney coupons

What are doublers?

I have been asked a few times now "What are Albertsons doublers?" Well I am going to explain to everyone what they are and please let me know if you have any questions.

I live in Idaho and in our area we only have one store that doubles coupons and that is Albertons. There are some rules to doubling at Albertsons though such as you have to have a doubler. Doublers (aka twice the value coupons) are coupons that come 3 to a sheet in the Sunday paper. You have to have a doubler to be able to double a coupon. These only come every few weeks in the paper, are good for 3 days only and you can only use 3 in one transaction. You have to supply your own doublers to be able to double coupons and Albertsons with double coupons that state "do not double". You can double a coupon up to $1.00 so if a coupon is $1.00 you can get $2.00 off an item if it is .75 you get 1.50 off the item. Doublers save a lot of money and I am like a kid at Christmas when I find out we are getting them. I wish more stores doubled coupons.

In our area the Walmarts also take Albertsons doublers so you can find some great deals doing that as well. If you see me post a walmart deal and say you can take an Albertsons doubler to make the deal sweeter this is what I am talking about.

Photo shoot today

Today I had the amazing opportunity to get my kids' photos taken by an amazing photographer. Woodard Photography located in the Treasure Valley does the most affordable, fun photo shoots. My kids and I met with her tonight for about 20-30 minutes that she just took pictures. She got some of each one individually, all together, groups of two and she even got me in a couple (a rare thing to do, I hate my pictures but that is another post for another blog). It was so nice to get my kids out to a beautiful location and have professional photos taken. Besides the fantastic time we all had the next best thing is the price.
